Cruiser Racing in the Portsmouth area

This might sound like an odd request. I spend most of the year pottering around the Solent with or without the family with a once yearly "expedition" to Cornwall/Channel Islands/France with the "boys". I do, however, yearn for a bit of racing, on occasions, and would love the idea of a race to Cherbourg or even to the Nab and back. I sail a Rival 32.
So to get to the question. Does anyone know of any cruiser racing open to non club members in the Portsmouth area?

Solent year book

The redoubtable Solent Year Book lists just about every race and every club in the area. Wouldn't be a bad place to start. Look also at JOG (junior offshore group) which has several shorter races in their programme. See http://www.jog.org.uk/main.htm

Royal Southampton Yacht Club runs a series of races. They also have a series of 2 handed pasage races which are good

I see the JOG boats racing across to France quite often with quite a range and mixture of boats. Try them, based in Cowes I believe.
