I stand to be corrected but I think they were manufacturers of sportsboats - around the 24 foot size in the late 70's and 80's.
They built somewhere inland like Coventry or something. The designs were American and "imported". No connection to Princess.
Good looking boats with a double midships berth under the steering console. Came with a bayliner type feel.
All this from memory and I'm sure we'll get the "expert" who has a reference book to look it up.

Cleopatra - yellow hull called Court Jester. Have you seen her ?

Used to own a cruisers International 2 years ago with a petrol AQ171 in it had real fun in it and good starter cruiser for me in the CI waters.

You can get a load of info from MBM historic boat reports but ask away with any questions you might have.

Cruisers International is a US manufacturer who used to sell quite a few boats here in the late 80's. If I remember correctly, one of their boats (Vee Express?) had some major structural problems; I think this plus the early 90's recession did for them and they went out of business
However, I think they've been ressurected and, certainly, I saw them at the Dusseldorf Show a couple of years back with a boat that, bizzarely, looked like a Broom copy so I think they're still around now

Crusers International were the uk branch of cruisers inc. They made the 236 (?)
Vee express and the 224 holiday which I owned. Production was in demand so they relocated to bigger warehouses but in the move the Vee express moulds were left out in the wet weather and had lamination problem later on but only numbers 1 to 26 I think.

The 224s were left inside and had no problems. Good sea boat.

Are you buying one? If so where from?

Just bought one!! Built at a factory in Corby, Northants.
Spent ages trying to decide between Bayliner / Cruisers.
Not many 24 footers (LOA) can offer brilliant sea keeping qualities, hot pressurised water, shower, fridge.
Intend to trail it around..SBS Trailers @ Wolverhampton supplying a superb bunk trailer.
Bought photocopy of original boat report from MBM dated Sept 1987. Contact MBM copy service 01202-440832 £3.50

Thanks for the info, am thinking about buying one they seem to be just that bit more complete than a Bayliner which I too have been looking at. Have you had to get any spares for your "Holiday " if so where do we go? Thats one of the reasons I might go for a Bayliner in the end. Do you think she is well built and handles well in a bit of a sea?

cliffsorge...
Tried to post a detailed reply last night but after I'd done it it refused to send and I lost the lot.
I'll redo it with all the info I have on 224s later on...just off out now to see my beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers in the play-offs on the telly, down the pub!
If you want to send your email address, I'll be able to scan and send all the info I have. If not I'll try again tonight.

You'll be lucky to get a reply from Depsol this is a 12 year old thread :) However I used to have a CI 224 and it was great little boat but it was the 267 Vee Express that suffered the structural issues not the 224.
This only affected the Coventry built boats not the earlier US built boat if you can find one, stringers cracked under the toilet moulding I believe one actually sunk. Some were recalled and repaired some were not as CI UK went bust, Prosser Marine used to be the dealers they maybe able to help with which ones are ok and which are not. However a lot are just used on rivers now as twin petrol boats are too expensive to run at sea, so if looking at one for inland use its unlikely to be a serious issue.

Cruisers were being imported and shown by Prosser Marine 5 or 6 years ago. They had grown to 35' +, and we're very nicely specified. Had a good look round a couple of them and I was quite impressed.
