Cruise Reports Cruise Report/Holiday - Success

Press the little icon in the tool bar that looks like a film .
It’s got a small Black dot in each corner if that helps ?
Then a box ( eventually ) appears
Press “ from computer “ next to the URL
Then “ choose file “
Go from there it should direct you the photo album s on that divice .
Pick a pic
Then press upload and err wait , yup it’s creaky . Are you listening mods ? :encouragement:

So either upload them before ie move say from a phone to tablet or laptop or take the image with the divice say a a Ipad ( or AN other tablet ?) so they are already loaded .

The issue is they come this size .But if YOU the viewer clicks on they fill your screen

Well. You'll have to do more trips to get the practice in on posting pics.
I use Imgur. It's a doddle. No faffing about with board tools, the BBcode link does it all for you

paste it direct to the board and voila

Bruce does this screen appear on an IPad ( mobile divice ) ?View attachment 72710

As imgur on my iPad does it in a file like this for example , I don,t see a B.B. code to paste about .

If you use a mobile and copy to clipboard you need to add a file extension (.jpg) and use board tool picture insert. Also be wary if loading more than one picture up into imgur at a time. i.e. dont select 5 photos and share as a single entity as that becomes a post rather than image. That cannot be shared as a single image regardless if you put a file extension in and you can only share the post as a whole.

Ok, so when I first posted this, I realised that it wasn't really a cruise report more of a, I finally got my boat and these are my first experiences, report. Anyhoo, If nothing else, perhaps it will give encouragement to others who are starting out like me.

Went to stay on her from 31/8 - 4/9 with SWMBO, daughter and foster boy. First problem was that the kettle kept tripping on the walkway and so had to keep resetting. Checked everything and tried to diagnose by switching everything off but kettle still tripped as did the toaster. It turned out that others were suffering the same problems on our pontoon. Later that evening everything worked and good for the rest of the break.

I decided to do the engine checks first afternoon and dropped my torch. Our foster lad picked it up and it was covered in oil. Turns out the port engine has an oil leak. I took advice and was told that if I top it up then a shorti'sh run should be ok. I was also told that it would probably need around 5l, however, 1.5l and she was back to a a little over halfway between low and high marks. It appears the leak is coming from the forward part of the port engine.

My old boss came to see the boat on 1st. I hadn't seen her for 20 years and we managed to feel comfortable as soon as we hugged and said "hi". After bacon butties and ladies, SWMBO and my old boss, doing lot's of talking (I needed another shave by the time they had finished) we finally got underway. We didn't do anything exciting and went to Alun Bay again where we anchored for a couple of hours and had lunch. Foster lad decided to have a swim off the back but on 4 hours sleep, my get up and go had buggered off. It was the only day we had out and yet again the anchor held, always surprised that it works and berthing was pretty good and again didn't hit anything. The rest of the holiday was spent mooching, beach, Gunwharf Quays, cinema and mostly eating out.

I have organised a service early Oct due to the oil leak and will get that done at the same time. She's an old girl and I budgeted for a few problems. After that, it's whether I take her out again before winter and what I am going to buy her for Christmas.

Personally I'd rather have more real use feedback reports in conjunction to long cruise trips to far exotic reaches. Or at least a balance of both. Keep sharing. :encouragement:
