There's a very handy pontoon which I think is at Torpoint, almost directly under the bridge. Seems to be plenty of parking all around and some good pubs.

Pickup point is at Saltash - free for boats up to 30', near to the Union pub, which has great live music regularly, and plenty of parking. Take the Saltash turn off the A38, immediately after the bridge - head towards the town centre, take the first left and head to the bottom of the hill. Turn right for the Union, bear left for the pontoon.

Saltash really is the only all-tide pick-up point on the Corrnish side.

You could try Cargreen where you can use the Crooked Spaniard car park short term (maybe, too, longer term if you are kind to the manager and promise to dine there on your return). The Inn has its own mooring buoys just 20 yards offshore, steps at the quay dry and the slip is not easy at low water. From about half tide upwards you can come alongside the quay with a draught of 5ft 6in or less, an hour either side with 6ft (all figures approx and no responsibility taken - etc)

If this is to be only an occasional event I am sure you will be welcomed at Saltash Sailing Club (especially if you buy a round!) which has its own pontoon just south of the bridges. But keep clear on Thursday and Tuesday evenings when club racing is on. Better still, join the club if your mooring is nearby. You will find us a very friendly lot who take part in all sorts of activities. Our men's team, called Caradon, have just won the World Gig Championships in Scilly last weekend. We also cruise, sail dinghies(Lasers, Laser IIs and National 12s as classes) and teach youngsters.
The club car park tends to fill from 1700 onwards on race nights but there is good parking nearby.

Gig Champs

Congratulations on the Gig win. Was this in the gig just built by Brian Nobbs. I was talking to him before the championships and he was showing me pictures - very impressive. He has been quoting for building our kitchen in Cargreen

Re: Gig Champs

Miller's Daughter was built by D&J Currah of Looe and launched at SSC only a few weeks ago. (Good photo and report in local evening paper by a well known sailing correspondent!).
Hope your kitchen gets built OK. Give me a call sometime you are in the neighbourhood.
