crew changes in Holland

Can anyone help ?? The sailing club is planning a trip to Holland and I need to make a crew change after the first week. Itinerary at the moment is Middleburg, Veer etc. If I drop off crew say at Bruinisse how easy is it to get back to Oostende or even Brussels to get the Eurostar ?? Any other suggestions for changeover points ???

Amsterdam is pretty easy. It's the only place I have changed people. Are you going this far up?

When are you going? Are you fully crewed up for the trip across?

Look here and here for good train travel options. The first website will have you planning trips to all sorts of outlandish places. Don't worry about the second one being German based. The timetable is accurate across Europe. Alternatively, given enough bodies, one way car hire may pay.

Bruinisse : catch train for Roosendaal at Kruningen-Yerseke (approx 1hr) - (Dutch Railways)

At Roosendaal catch InterCity for Antwerp/Ostend or Intercity Amsterdam/Antwerp/Brussels (Belgian Railways)

Rail travel is easy and quick in Holland, the system generally works.
Stena line, (Harwich Hook) do a single ticket from any station in east anglia to any station in Holland for £25. Have a look at the Stena website though cos the fast ferry was withdrawn last week and the fare structure may have changed. There is still a daytine ferry but it takes 6 odd hours.

Railway in the SW province (Zeeland) is on the line Vlissingen-Middelburg-Goes-Bergen Op Zoom. Anywhere else are very regular bus services.
An option from Bruinisse would be: bus to Zierikzee and from there to Goes. Train from Goes to Roosendaal and from Roosendaal to Eindhoven. Bus Einhoven Railway Station to eindhoven Airport and then by Ryanair to Stansted. Cheap service twice a day or more

In Dutch only, here are a few translations you may need to make the system work:Van = from; Naar = to; then chopose from treinstation (railwaystation) or adress where Straat = street and Plaats = town. On the bottom of the planner choose from time of departure of time of arrival (Vertrek or Aankomst)

Be careful with this one. In Holland, and elsewhere on the continent, you have to pay a supplement ( toeslag ) for using express trains. Check whether this type of ticket includes the D-trein or whether it is for Stop-trein only.

Are you sure that there is a higher price for fast trains in the Netherlands? I doubt it very much. On top the country is so small that it does not really make much difference in time if you have to use a stop-train or an express-train. In this particular case most time will be spent waiting for busses. Probably the easiest is to take a bus from Zierikzee to Rotterdam and take a train from there to where you want to go.
