What's wrong with using notepad?

I used blogger and found it very easy, but at a certain point it kept on insisting over and over again to change to Chrome, i.e. our blogger site could not be accessed/updated for as long I used Internet Explorer instead of Chrome

I migrated to Chrome and our blogger mini-site became easy to maintain, but I really do not like this type of half-hidden forced persuasion :angry:

There must be a bit more to this than meets the eye.

There is no way that Blogger would force people to use Chrome.... not only would it be a terrible marketing error, but also probably illegal....

I've used Blogger for years, several times a week, and never had that experience. For sure, they do occassionally suggest you download Chrome in a banner ad, but to force you to use it?..... nope.

+1 for Wordpress. I use Blogpress for iPhone to post each time I've been anywhere. My mum likes it.

I use blogger too (yachtlivemagic.blogspot.co.uk) and have never been asked to switch to Chrome in Firefox, IE or Safari.

You may well be right, I am absolutely no expert but at first I saw an indication

"Your browser it's not the best to manage your blogger account, why not try CHrome? "

I kept on with Int Explorer

After another couple of weeks

"Your browser is not supported any more, many blogger functions may become unavailable"
and indeed in most pages of the "editing" side of blogger I just saw bits and pieces, but could still input messages

Then a further few weeks later there was no way I could access or do anything, so I downloaded Chrome and indeed everything works very well since (btw I mostly use Chrome for everything else)

This was on two different PC I used, the boat one and the home one.


As you say, it looks so gross a mistake that is hardly believable, still that's what happened to me.
I would be interested in knowing any possible technical reasons ?

Anyway, I like this Chrome thing and basically now always use Chrome, maybe that's what they wanted, though they haven't been very nice..
