Re: Hang on

The Morris Marina is the only car to learn to drive in. All the thrills of a hairy arsed ralley car with only 10% of the velocity. Plus lots of sharp bits that will impale you should it all go T.U.

You missed out the Citroen 1220 which was essential driving for anyone who aspired to being a Hovercraft captain.

One of my favorites is a crap car like no other. The Volvo 360 GLT. Thats the last car I did a genuine power drift around a sweeping 90 deg. corner. For the uninitiated a power drift is getting the car to slide all four wheels, under control, through the bend without steering wheel input. Purely on the throttle. You still wouldn't want to be seen in one though.

As to Crap Boats I've only sailed one.

1. Sadler Barracuda, and I'm not saying there all crap, he said copping out big time.

Ah well theres another thing, some of us CAN sail a ditch in a gale force 2 AND get home before dark too! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Pretty things overhangs too, especially viewed through the eyes of the marina manager tape measure in hand, overnight berth bill in hand....

I wasn't siding with Fray Bentos Man really, I will admit that I used to be an addict when young but I kicked the habit cold turkey eventually, with the help of fine wines and fresh seafood goodies. Not sure why these should be fodder on board a trim little Benny either, seem much more suited to the deep bilges of a MAB, labels removed and name written on the tin in oil and waterproof ink, with the box of vaselined eggs (clever some chickens at avoiding pain aren't they).

It is a waste of time and it annoys the pig.

Re: titanic - not maiden voyage

I believe the itinerary was Harland & Wolff (Belfast) - Soton - Le Havre - Cobh (then known as Queenstown) - NY

Re: Celine Dion

He must have had a frontal lobotomy to find her (i) attractive (ii) able to sing.

She's rubbish!

Me too then.....

...'Cos I've got every CD she made including those where she sings in French and Spanish. Come and have a drink on board and they will be on in the background - full volume for non-believers!

Re: Hang on

I had a Marina as company car years ago, it only had 3 minor faults.
1/ very difficult to start.
2/ very difficult to stop [see safety feature nr 1]
3/ cornered like a land crab.
But at least it was better than the Ital.

Germans with wind problems

The VW beetle would perform an involuntary lane change if it passed a pedestrian who sneezed. (Cross wind stability was not its forté).

A Bavaria 32 will round-up in a very small gust.

How far is Wolfsburg from the Bavarian Volksboot assembly line? I think we should be told.

Oh, I say... FOUL. I only spun my Beetle once. Was outside the Houses of Parliament though. Tch.. try doing that these days, you'd be up against the wall before you could say "45 minutes..."

NOw you've got yuor gloves off, quote from Eton school teacher today:

"...jimi cheated his exams for copying information about Rivals, so we let him have a Beneturd. It shouldn't affect his chances of getting into Sandhurst, though....."

I heard it on R4, this morning.

BTW, out this weekend to Poole, not expecting to see too many yoghourt pots out there.

Re: Back to the drawing board

Actually, dividing means they'll all get a score of infinity (your calculator may say zero but that's 'cos it's given up).

Re: Back to the drawing board

Well I was told at school that 'owt divided by nowt is one'.
However, I believe that actually the answer is neither 1, nor infinity but 'impossible to establish' or 'indeterminate'. Which remarkably enough seems like the correct answer to this entire question.

and also says something of the quality of my maths teaching, the only 'fact' I remember is wrong!
