The reviewer likes that kind of boat as is obvious from his review. What is surprising however is his review of the other boat in that issue which is a bit of a dog, but he did not say so!

Have magazine reviews, ever given a bad review? Presumably doing so would kill their revenue stream?

Yes, this particular reviewer is well known for being critical about the sort of boat in question, usually though as examples of "bad" when reviewing boats he does like. If you read the review he does identify some of the negatives but makes light of them and the conclusions are generally favourable.

Agree - not very photogenic apart from the chute. Not too different though from its contemporaries in looks, but you really need to go on board to appreciate how awful it is. Sailing performance not helped by the test boat (only one in the UK I understand) having the combination of shallow draft and the big "performance" rig.
