Cowes Sealift

That was my attempt to paint out the name, if your mate would like the originals I can email them to him.

That's a very kind offer, but to be honest I rather doubt they'd be all that proud of those shots!

Yep - another satisfied Sealift customer here. I'm pleased to see they're (apparently) commercially successful - they deserve to be.

Hi again,

i was just looking at your photos again.

As I said before my paint is ok I think - like yours. I'm now thinking of doing exactly what you have done and saving the whole lift block off and relaunch fee for 8hrs on the hard when my guys antifoul.

Seems to me change anodes if needed and touch up where needed and delay the whole lift out until Autumn or indeed next spring depandant on how the growth looks on the hull.

Case need another prop/shaft clean up on the sealift and your still ££££ in.

Is that your plan too?

Every year I have painted my hull whether it needs it or not!

Yes my plan was just a quick scrub now and to lift out in December.
If any growth comes by September it doesnt really matter because by then we will be local anyway and can put up with a reduced 22 knt cruise again but over 30 miles it doesnt really make much difference.

However having seen the condition of the Uno antifoul I am confident the hull will be clear by December anyway.

I chose Uno knowing full well that it is soft and is eroded quickly at 30 knots.

I seldom travel far at 30 knots, just the odd photo shoot or to find a safe path through a yacht race.

Now each time I push it up to 30 knots I clean the antifoul, I hope by using Uno like this that I will also avoid the build up of antifoul that eventually gets too thick and has to be chipped away.

In December 09 I will lift for 4-6 weeks and renew with Uno ( I like the idea of allowing the hull to dry out for a month at least every other year).

Basically now set up a sequence where every other year is sealift.

It is so quick and easy I think there is a good argument to have a scrub on the way to Channel Islands too, if it saves 10% fuel and allows you to save 1/2 hour travelling time

I also avoided all the hoist mess and muddy/oily boot prints on the decks that takes a day to wash away.
The whole experience is enjoyable as opposed to a pain in the ....

Great minds.......

Thats my plan having seen your pix. I too reckoned Uno would errode and not create a build up.

I agree that a year using the lift for anodes and touch up and following year lift out for antifoul will save money without performance loss with the attaction of not having the antifoul build up oftain discussed on here.

I will post a similar report once lifted.
