Not a great start.....

Saturday, cars scrapping as they come on and off.

Sunday, electrical fault and people stranded for a little while

Monday, MCA pull the plug!

Advancements in technology are never easy or cheap....3.2 million :):):)

I know! Mid tide too. Imagine on a low spring. Someone will have to get busy with a welder and add some longer hinged flaps

Why would that make a difference? Unless the slipway gets steeper further down, the ferry will be at the same angle to the ramp, just further down.

Anybody heard of an outlook for getting it fixed?

For the last few days they have " beached " it on the Cowes side slipway each morning just before HW and been working under the loading ramp once the tide has fallen.

Purely a guess but perhaps they trying to make the upper section of the ramp lower further so that the end section is not at such a steep angle to the slipway.

Presumably they will do, l or have already done, the same thing to the other ramp while on the East Cowes slipway

All in all though it seems to be bit of a design cock up with the ramps or possibly a misreading of the drawings during constructions

Thet were also talking about more operator training ........ so probably someone is trying to pin the blame on the crew!

You can see it on the webcam http://www.camsecure.co.uk/river_medina_webcam.html

Some other good webcams on that site. The steam railway one is very interesting esp on days when two trains are running. Hundreds of people there last sunday when the IOW festival of Transport was on

I used to go on it everyday and on low springs the angle off the ramp was more severe. I guess the land side ramps are not an even decline angle

Best wishes with the move. I still miss home even though I left 12 years ago. Still, couldn't afford to keep my boat there so every cloud!
