courtesy flag for Scotland and Ireland

When we kept a boat in Portsmouth, we used to fly a Welsh Dragon in lieu of an ensign, simply for the pleasure of the near-fatal rise in blood pressure it induced in Solent fishermen. Now, up and down Milford Haven, the sporting value of the practice has diminished somewhat.

Doesn't that give problems with scorch marks, or did you have it neutered?

When we pulled into Cornwall having sailed from Ireland we flew St Piran's flag. It's a black flag with a white cross on it. It's the Cornish flag and they don't like you flying the red duster there! The peoples republic of Cornwall I guess ;-)

Given that the SSR registration appears to be held by DVLA shouldn't we all be displaying the Welsh flag?
And my recollection of Bowmore is that the best selection of whiskies is held by the Spar outside the gates of the distillery.

Years ago I was visiting Islay for work and asked my colleague there where the best place to buy local whisky was. He looked a wee bit puzzled and said "Bowmore Co-Op".
