could I - antifoul

Hi - last winter I used primercon on my dp-g drive then applied approx 6 coats of trilux 33 antifoul which according to the paint manufacturers has a protection life of 18 months.
now the boat is out of the water ready for new anodes etc - Could i just put another couple of coats of the same antifoul on to then extend the 18 month period ?
would maybe a light sand to create a key be required?

any opinions welcomed

Antifouling can usually be applied over sound , clean, dry antifouling without further preparation, but see the manufacturer's data sheet for the product in question and follow the advice given there
