Hello

We are currently in Morocco and planning on heading to Fuerteventura reasonable soon.

We have family flying out on the 7th November so have been trying to book into Corralejo marina for the week. So far we have completed the online form and emailed it to them but have had no response back. We are led to believe this is quite normal. We have also tried to phone but our Spanish is not very good and the person we spoke to did not speak English.

We wouldn't ordinarily be that bothered but it would be nice to know we have a place reserved so we can spend the week with our family.

Does anyone have a direct email address for Corralejo marina or is anyone based there at the moment who would know this.
Any information would be very greatly received.

cheers

Hiya Darren,

Don't know if its changed in the last 5 years, but its a bit of a run down place with very little room for visitors. I used to just arrive onto the long 'visitors pier' mostly full of tourist boats and hope for the best. Thence to the port captains office just over at the ferry terminal....if open.

If all else fails, you can anchor in god holding between the 'marina' and town and dinghy in to collect your team (lots of ferry wash tho. If you do get in I found the town with its harbour beaches great. Beer cheap....

Otherwise less than 2 hours north is the excellent full service marina Rubicon, Lanzarotte.

Enjoy!!

Oh, another thought if they are flying in. Much nearer the airport and past Rosario is the small marina El Castillo. Another to front up and hope for the best. Very tourist but as you can imagine we always managed a good run ashore!!

Cheers Capt

Thanks for that.

We've had a good scout round of the marinas in Fuerteventura (not many I know) and Corralejo seemed to be best option for being close to stuff and near to Lanzarote for day trips.
It would have been better if they were going to Lanzarote but they did that last year so wanted to be somewhere different.

We took your advice on Morocco and are very much enjoying it here. Cheap as chips, loads of cruising boats and really great place.
Hope Mandy got her earring back?

cheers

She just got some more!

Glad you like Morocco. If you get in to Corralejo you wont be disappointed, may need to be a bit pushy. The offlying island of Lobos has a smashing anchorage for a day out.

Hope it all works,

CS

There's usually space in Gran Tarajal and is less of a tourist trap than Corralejo. About the same distance from the airport and has a bit better bus service.
They have funny rules in Fuerteventura about applying in writing in advance - which don't work, so just turn up and apply while there.
