Corner Dock Fender?

I was all ready to say put the money towards a course and learn to park, then I saw the picture! Looks like someone has designed a tool to damage boats - did they sharpen it too?

I once berthed in a marina that had rubber tyred horizontal wheels on the apex of the pontoon corners.

(I can't say how effective they were because that was one of those unusual occasions when I managed to berth without coming into contact with the pontoon corner. :o )

OK, I've had a look at what is available, and checked out the other berths in the marina. Several of them have the large tubular Plastimo fenders, but no Plastimo corner fenders.

Despite this, I've decided to go for a Plastimo Articulated 3/4 Dock Bumper Fender:

The only problem is that I can't find out any info on the mounting holes, specifically their distance from the edge of the dock; they look very close in the photo. I've tried to contact Plastimo (and Navimo) but no reply.

Can anyone help?

Just stepped off onto the pontoon & measured mine for you (in the rain!) :)
Looks to be approx 3.5cm in from edge.

As Northwind says.. perhaps less damage to the pontoon if you screw a flat piece of wood down first and then possibly even pre-bolt the Plastimo corner fender to the wood.

You could possibly even take out some of the screws that hold the aluminium plate down and fix the new piece of wood through the same holes...

See what others in the same marina have done - it does look rather sharp.

BTW - I searched ages ago for wheel fenders and could only find them in either the US or in Australia....

Something like Wheel fender in the US

and Supafend in Australia
