Corgi registered gas check?

It seems that our insurance wants our gas supply turned off until we have a Corgi registered fitter to give us a safety certificate. I changed the gas supply, renewed all the pipe, copper and rubber, sealed the gas locker, with a drain hole, fitted cut off valves, all as per the recommendadtions but they want it checked.

I'm a bit miffed, but I have to comply. So, can anyone recommend a gas fitter in the Cardiff area who could come and check it over for us?

My mate is Corgi but i think it is a different certification for boats, i will ask.
The guy that did ours is swmbos friends husband.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated. I like to do things properly, so I downloaded the marine recommendations and renewed the gas system accordingly. What annoyed me was that there was no mention of this when we took out the insurance, but it appeared on the schedule, which I think is a bit naughty. We have argued but they ain't budging.

H&S, yes I think so. It now seems after years and years of doing all my own DIY on house, boat and camper van that I will be limited to sitting down and watching others do it.

I still remember the Corgi registered fitter who installed my central heating, and how he drilled an over pressure relief pipe through the house wall without checking to see that the main gas pipe entered the house the other side of the wall. Cut clean through it, the wrong side of the meter and half the street was filled with gas......

I don't mind paying for the professionals, but I'd rather if they were actually professional.

Its so unfair,was advised last week by a Corgi registered plumber that our diesel fired boiler at work was dangerous because it was leaking from a hole in the flue,turns out this "hole" was for taking the cumbustion readings and is quite safe.So one call out fee and an hours labour down the drain. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hmm, looks like it's going to cost us £60 for a call out too. Really annoying as it is such a simple system. A few years back I built my own camper van from a Peugeot Boxer. I did all the 12V, 240V cooker fridge and water myself, with never a blink from the insurance. Read all the books and did it all. This is a simple pipe with a bottle at one end and a cooker at the other. Cost me about £15 to replace the whole system and £60 to get a piece of paper. Grr.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's better and safer to get it checked and so on.
