Hi, I'm sailing with a friend I meet on here in Corfu in May, I'm wanting to then go from Corfu to Cyprus, I'm on a budget so I thought about going by hydrofoil, I know they operate between cyprus and athens, but does anyone know if they operate between Corfu and athens or direct to cyprus? Or know the website address for booking them on?

Or if anyone is in Corfu and fancies a trip down to cyprus departing 25th of May

Cheers Andy

There is no direct route from Corfu to Cyprus (they are a long way apart!). You will have to go via Athens. Cheapest would probably be bus from Corfu to Athens the ferry to Cyprus. However, flying would be infinitely easier and you may find not so expensive as you think if you book online with Aegean Airways (would still be through Athens).

Hope this helps

AFAIK there are no passenger ferry services to Cyprus, except from Anamur and Mersin in Turkey into Girne. All passenger ferry services into Limassol ceased in 2004 (I think). The only ferry service from Cyprus to Greece is for trucks and their drivers - no extraneous passengers. I think you will air travel your only choice.

Thank you all ever so much!

The Aegean Airways was just what I needed, found a flight for £200 euros, via Athens.

Yeah I vaguely remember the passenger ferry service cancelled, wasn't it due to an accident or was it just the total lax of services the boats for 20 years with no regard for safety? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
