After reading a few threads on here I’m thinking of getting my flex of fold copper plated because I’m fed up with the ritual removal, preparation, painting each season only to have the paint fail/the prop foul up after a few weeks of immersion and the resulting drop in boat speed. Can anyone recommend a company that can copper plate my prop, ideally locally to central South coast? I’ve called a few electro plating co’s none of whom have done a prop before. Not that they have to have experience, but would rather get it done by someone who has done one previously.

I use Velox in Greece and find it pretty good. It seems it may not be so good everywhere in UK. Many problems with their primer have been reported and discussed on the Velox site. I have been very happy with Hammerite.
The plating was done primarily for a drying mooring in N. Wales where it was very successful.
