Evening,
need to fabricate bit of pipework for engine, its for joint between heat exchanger and water injection on exhaust . Will protect from vibration and direct metal to metal contact by using rubber hose but I'm concerned what effect hot salty water will have on copper pipe.
Thanks
Keith

I have short copper tube pieces inside the rubber endcaps of the Bowman H/E to take the strain of clamping the next pipe.

Some corrosion over time but nothing that has caused me concern.

I was warned on a recent thread about the follies of using domestic copper pipe with seawater. Our engine intake (cold seawater) had a 22mm copper pipe swan neck that developed a hole suddenly last season, that would have been fatal if the engine seacock had been left open. That was after 23 years of use, mind.
From the other replies, a higher quality copper sounds safe enough.
