copper coat antifoul in Devon

just prepared the LennyVee,s bottom ready for antifoul, and seriously considering coppercoat. Having moved from the River Itchen down to Teignmouth,Devon last season, I noticed a big difference in the crud amassed on her underside. when we lifted . A thick carpet of tiny barnacles. The outdrives were infested with tiny sharp mussels. My question to you informed forumites. Has anyone experience with copper coat bottoms in the Devon area?(not on the outdrives ,of course) Is it worth the extra expense, does it discourage the little blighters.

I know a few boats on the Exe which have it, very similar conditions to the Teign. It seems to work well for them.
