Does anybody have any knowledge of marinas in/around Copenhagen?

The reason I ask is we are thinking (got to have a plan) of putting the boat (44' yacht) up in the baltic for a couple of seasons (I have had enough of the Solent etc.) and with flights etc, Copenhagen is looking like a possible as a base for the first summer, then maybe overwintering in/near Stockholm and spending the 2nd year around there.

So we are looking for suitable marinas in the area to leave the yacht for 4-6 months(ish).

Many thanks in advance.

There are a number of pretty big marinas around Copenhagen.
Svanemolle/Kalkbraenderihavn is probably the biggest and pretty close to the city. Kastrup Strandpark down near the airport has about 700 berths and Kobenhavn Osthavn- Margretholm is about the same size . The Nautic Marina in the Cristianshavn canal is the closest ( and quietest) possiblity right in the centre. Langelinie ( near the Little Mermaid) and Hotel Admiralen are also close but not very small boat friendly and subject to swell. Don't know what the rates are but being Denmark it won't be cheap!

We paid about DKK100 per night for 3 nights in June 2007 at Svanemolle. Not many berths were both available and wide enough to take our beam (got stuck trying one berth /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
It's a huge marina - we were 10 minutes walk from loo block and it was nearly a mile to the marina office. But once finally outside there were good links into the city centre.

Should add, when we were in Ebeltoft the marina there was really cheap - I think it would have been circa £600 for 10m for the season (2007 rates so add approx 25% for exchange rate changes). It's a 15 minute bus ride from Arhus airport. We didn't enquire about availability though.

The Cruising Association is a mine of information on all things Baltic. There's a very active Baltic section with well over a hundred members, who share a database of advice, and an email network (Balticnet) where questions such as yours can quickly be answered. You'll probably save your membership fees from the savings you make in paying for relevant charts, pilot books etc!

Try Ishoj Marina in the southwest of Kopenhagen / north of Koge bight. It´s close to the airport ; enough space and good service with moderate prices. Check also http://www.sejlerens.com for prices service etc. of almost all marinas and harbours in Denmark.
