Any reco's for gas cookers, need to replace mine but all Chandlers locally only seen to have Plastimo Neptunes. Is there anywhere that keeps a range on display, don't want a Rolls Royce cooker but VFM. Dont mind a run out to have a look.
Cheers

EC Smith seem to distribute a few, wanted to talk to them at the boat show but they pointedly ignored me.
Might be worth a ring to see who holds decent stocks.

On second thoughts was at Fox's in Ipswich today they had 5-6 units, give them a ring.

Seamark Nunn on YBW Shopping are in Suffolk and sell cookers including Nelson which from a thread recently seemed to be highly regarded. Might be worth a call to view?

if doing more than camping aboard, get a thermostatic oven. a good budget range is SMEV (italian).

2 rings is better than 4, you'll never use them all and they're usually too small.

if gimballed, check it has room to swing (or wear a long apron!)

The Plastimo Neptune is a re-badged and re-priced British-made cooker.

It happens to be one of the best LPG cookers on the market, with full flame-failure on all burners and a thermostatically controlled oven.

I've had one for 9 years (the last 4 years I've lived for a greater part of the time on the boat) and the cooker has seen a lot of work.

It's probably a little small to cook for more than about 4 people, but I've done a number of 4 course meals on it with no problems.

The cooker is made by:

Give them a ring!!

As usual Charles has good advice. I have a new all stainless Plastimo Liesure, which I think is also made in Bolton UK. Its a bit bigger than the Neptune, but has all the flame failure devices and a great oven and a grill that actually grills. To be recommended as far as I am concerned, and its great that a good British manufacturer has a good Distributor like Plastimo selling them to the world. Harry
