I need to replace my cooker it's a two burner and oven. It still works but it has a rusty hole on the edge of the glass.
I would like to replace it with a 3 burner, oven and either with or without a grill I don't mind.

Want to spend less that a £800 ish
The options are..

Spinflo Nelson, gets a good reputation but is only a 2 burner.
Plastimo 3 burner but gets a poor reputation.
Eno, these do a 3 burner and it looks really good but I know nothing about them.

Anyone know of any others?

Not sure why you think the Plastimo has a poor reputation. The problem with most cookers is that they have the grill inside the oven which limits its use and reduces the size of the oven. The widest range of different makes is available from Southern Calor in Southampton.

We have an Eno which we fitted when the Impex died a couple of years back. Howevr, we didn't choose it because it was the best value for money, had a grill or three burners or anything like that. We bought it 'cos it was the only one that would fit in the hole left by the previous one......... We'd wanted one with a grill but it was too deep to fin the hole and the three ringed version was outside our price range. The Plastimo ones were too small and Spinflo too costly.

Of course your main limiting factor will be the area available.

I'd also agree that you're harsh on the Plastimo (I'd never buy Plastimo because their re-badging the Leisure Products range has doubled the price).

I got the Leisure Products (top-end Plastimo) for £149, in 1999. Since fitting proper sealing strip around the oven I'd swear by it.
The only problem is that there is barely sufficient room to get on a 600mm od pressure cooker - a problem I'd expect would be exacerbated by a 3 ring layout.
Best of all is the thermostatically controlled oven - though it's too small for a turkey, you can get in a medium chicken.

IMO Plastimo are junk. Fine for your weekend sailor but no use as a Liveaboard.

Why do you need 3 burners ? I bought & installed a Nelson Spinflo, 2 burners separate
oven & grill, works fine and covers all our needs.

I replaced my old Plastimo with a Spinflo Nelson. Excellent bit of kit. Proper thermostatic controlled oven; so Yorkshire Pud, Dundee cake and roasts no problem. Also the grill toasts evenly. Faultless whilst SWMBO and I living on board for two years. This weekend, the grill thermocouple needs to be replaced.

Maybe there's some technical reason which escapes me, but does anyone know why every domestic oven made in my lifetime has an oven thermostat, yet it's still remarkable when applied to a boat oven? Perhaps the reason is the same most boat engines run alternator drives which were state-of-the-art when the Kaiser's cousin was shot but haven't been seen on any reputable car for several decades.

I suppose I'm asking why 'marine' manufacturers are so good at taking the p*ss, and why we're so obliging in accepting it.

We have just fitted a Dometic three burner to replace our two burner. Not heard any bad reports and we are very happy. We bought ours from Marine Megastore for a tad under £400, and it's got electronic ignition

Whatever you do don't buy the Smev Moonlight. Even with the "guard" in place using the grill makes the knobs so hot they discolour and get so hot they burn your fingers. We took ours out and back for a refund. Right pain as it was all fitted and certified! We replaced it with a Dometic CU335 GTM. £535 from Marinestore, works great, knobs at the side so no grille problems. Thermostatic oven too. No gimballs but is drilled for retro fit standard smev gimballs.

As far as I know none of the Plastimo ovens have a thermostat - hence my buying one direct from the people who make it for Plastimo. It's done 21 years and I cook on it every day...

Much like Duncan we fitted another Eno one, it was C R A P and the outside got so hot you could burn yourself on it. We contacted Eno about this and the various other problems and they were as helpful as a chocolate tea pot. So now we are onto oven no3 which is one of these which is great! even the thermostat works and the grill is really good http://www.aquafax.co.uk/html/product_details.asp?ID=11278

SWMBO became so infuriated by our new Plastimo cooker that I posted her rant at http://www.yachtsentinel.co.uk/Cooker/cooker.htm describing all the problems we had with it. Eventually we chucked it on a skip when it was less than a year old. We replaced it with a Force 10 (http://www.force10.com/products.html). It has a diffuser in the oven which gives a nice even heat and prevents the back of the dish coming out burnt.

We have an eno, very uneven toast, no grill, and inner oven glass just blew away and ruined dinner, not impressed. Apparently glass in the Eno is well known problem and reoccurring very often, so big, fat NO for ENO
