I can cook, but does it show you how to get even cooking in a conventional maritime oven, and also how to cook enough bacon for 6 people in one go- are the recipes good for a small galley.

What sort of boat is RedRum just out of interest?

Bacon etc

If bacon for 6 is your prob have you considered Mike Peyton's solution ? He reputedly has a rectangular fryingpan (or maybe griddle) which goes across both burners. Sounds ideal.

And as for even cooking - will someone out there tell me what the problem is (e.g. details/recipe) cos it's never happened to me. Are you pushing the oven dishes to the back of the oven over the flame ?

You must follow the same rule as we do: cook doesn't wash up. It's the washer-up that gets the full force of the burnt-on bits.

Peter - pessimist doesn't know how to wash up - unless I'm away and it's been 4 days in the sink ! Down-trodden, moi ?

Aah ! Didn't realise there was something to recommend RYA courses - but this sounds _good_ ! Training males to wash up - now there's a reason for the RYA (sorry - sour ?)

Are you two on separate computers or are you in the same room- very entertaining whatever the answer. I still never found the definitive answer to the relationship between pessimist and pragmamtist- I think I stopped reading the post when the answers became too cryptic.

I suspect, just from having read the brief exchange above, that if you specialised in psychiatric medicine, you'd find they were two halves of a perfectly schizophrenic personality /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif!

Only joking!
