Anyway, thats what Debs calls them. Actually CMBHA. A bit of a mouth full for some. It's a sort of boat club I think, we joined last year, but then apparently they all had a row among them selves and everyone resigned. But it's started up again and they have sent us a letter. One To D Boehan and one to Haydn Boehan at 134 *********. We dont have a number to our house, so how come 134?? and who the hell is D Boehan. We must have a bloody good post man to work it all out.

They have relaxed the dress code for the dinner dance from dinner suits and evening dresses to lounge suits. Neither of which I own and if I did, would not think of taking to the boat.

Then I have to ask the question, why does the Conwy marina boat club, hold it's meetings and get togethers at Conwy golf club, which dont allow nonmembers anyway, instead of the perfectly respectable Conwy marina pub.

Hands up please, who takes a dinner suit or even lounge suit to the boat, who wants to walk a mile in high heels (not me) to the golf club.

Should I join again and send ten quid.

Deganwy Marina seemed to be having a good time last year, at a BBQ in a tent, overlooking the Castle. Unfortunately we were'nt staying, re fueling I think. Who wants to get dressed up for boating, not me, spent years, and years, of being presentable for business. Thats paid for my scruffy boating. Thankfully.

The fact that you are asking - and the manner of asking, tells me you don't give a damn. But, is there any chance this pompous lot could organise themselves into a pressure group? Because that is the only value I could see in it.

Most odd. We were in Conwy for three weeks in 2007 (engine problems) and were invited to CMBHA annual dinner
No signs of dinner suits and evening dresses. Just smart casual.

If memory serves the pub is called The Mulberry ? Nice place & good ale. Cant understand why they would want to meet at some snotty golf club.

I think they are a bit of a pressure group, in that they seem to organise cheap lift outs and voice concerns of the marina inhabitants. Good stuff so far. No idea how effective. But I cant see me joining a club, that uses words like "inquorate". Whatever it is, it dont sound like fun boating.

I can live with Jack that does this and Jane that does that. But Chairmen, Secretaries and AGM's at a boat club and I switch off. Never mind dinner jackets.

It's a bit like imagining Mucky Farter with James Bond at the wheel, bedraggled in his monkey suit.

It's all a bit pretentious for me.

we've seen them in long dress's heels etc., walking down the pontoon. Each to their own, what suits one, isn't another's choice. All I am saying is why can't it be a bit informal. Now as one that hasn't organised anything, do we have a right to be critical, probably not. Can anyone advise when the Deganwy BBQ is on this year ???

The thing that needs organising is diesel down to the boat. Maybe a collective pipe that we can T off to. A tank at tuther end that we can chuck juice in to. So say we bring 50 gallons, we can pump out 50 gallons at tuther end.

Back to another thread, I can understand marinas can use H&S to stop decanting fuel into boats. But taking stuff to boats is another thing. Like gass, I take gass to the boat But dont decant it, till the other one is empty. I dont have to decant fuel, till out the marina
