Stackpole quay is correct but the man was my uncle Stan Snelling who fished and sailed on the Channel for many years during his life.
He was one of the men who built the Rumney River Boathoist about 20 yrs ago. It was built almost entirely from scrap metal and was certificated for use.
I think of the hoist now as a lasting memorial to a very practical man who allways would give freely of his time to help you out.
