I have just been reading in Sailing Today about the Navigation Table arrangement in the Contessa 28. I have a Maxi 84 to which I would like to fit a nav table and this arrangement looks suitable.
Can anyone give me details of how the Contessa table arrangement works please?
Are the special rails still likely to be available?

I had a '28, but by the time I got it, the Nav table rails had been removed and it simply pivoted (they obviously weren't happy with the original arrangement). It was never very good as the table was always at an angle, although you could use bungees to keep things on it in a seaway. From the marks on the boat, I think the original rails were only strips of wood, designed in a sort of 'z' affair, where the whole chart table (a wooden box) slid forwards and backwards (and up and down) and the back of it 'latched' at the top.

Jeremy Rogers is still around supplying spare parts for '28s, so I'm sure he could help you if you needed it
