In the last week or so I have read a number of articles which suggest that Kingfisher's was the fastest time in the Route du Rhum. For example, "....For the first time in the history of the race a monohull won overall, ahead of the first trimaran." YW Editorial Jan 03 Edn.

Geant: 13d 07h 53'
Kingfisher: 13d 13h 31' 47"
Now I know who crossed the line first and I know which is the faster boat and I don't want to diminish the achievements of either participant. I am also perfectly willing to accept that for an Open 60 to finish within a matter of hours of the time of the leading multihull would amount to a massive handicap victory.
