compass fluid

does anyone know where i can buy top-up fluid for my plastimo compass. would white spirit be safe to use? many thanks!

not sure that vodka or gin Ideal as it will take the numbers off the painted bits how about baby oil or similar?

Don't use spirit, use mineral oil.

Some compass manufacturers use synthetic paraffin. Suggest you check with fluid suppliers such as Esso(Exxon)

i used baby oil to fill up my plastimo and it worked well. i tried out different fluids to se which mixed with the original. both turps and baby oil mixed fine. you can 1/2 litre of the original fluid thro the post for £20 from compass repairers
