Hi All

Recently delivered my boat to Falmouth as our jumping off for Biscay in July, had intended on having our compasses swung before we left the Solent but never got round to it.

Wondering if anyone might be able to help me out with recommendations for a compass adjuster in or around Falmouth? Have tried some rather extensive Google searching but have mostly found swingers clubs/websites or dead links to websites of people who seem to have gone out of business!

Any tips greatly appreciated (not for swingers clubs!)

Thanks

Pete

Thanks very much for the recommendation.

Maybe a stupid question (first time I'll have had it done) - did he need you to be there to steer the boat through headings or was he able to take care of things himself?

The last time I had a boat's compass swung with a professional compass adjuster, I had to be on board and manoeuvre the boat as directed by him. Your best bet is to ask the adjuster.

Also have the precise make and model of compass to hand when you contact him.

Yes, you need to be aboard: he will probably want you to take the boat out into Carrick Roads, and be on board about an hour, hour and a half or so.
