Hi All
I am doing some additional research into 'hot' stamped hull numbers, 'all' Colvic Watsons Motor Sailers have a 4 digit hull number 'hot stamped' on the canoe stern typical as below, (however some may have been covered over with wood or rubber rubbing strakes if fitted).
3 months ago I also heard from an owner of a Colvic Northerner who also found a number on his flat stern and last week from a Colvic Seaworker owner.
The numbers do not run consecutively but were taken out as each order came in for a mould no matter what the design to be made by Colvic Craft, however from my database of the Colvic Watson Motor Sailers the hull number do identify the year of when the mould was manufactured (which is not the launch date).
The hull number can also be found on the Hull Moulders Certificate which was issued by Colvic Craft which might be found in your boats documentation.
I would be pleased to hear from any other boat/yacht owners of any other Colvic built boats who has found a number? it is always on the stern generally in the middle about 250/300mm down.
Mike
