By the way.. just for completeness ..

I should report that, thanks to Appledores docs, I was able to get the drum apart and replace the forestay using the Sta-lock fittings.

Have enjoyed 3 years incident free sailing since then.

So, the approach worked great and was a damn sight cheaper than a new furling system...

Huzzah!

Hi there,
Sorry for slow reply.. have had awful hassle trying to get logged in to the forums...

I have three word docs with pages about the colnebrook...
If you PM me I will be happy to email them to you.
Best Regards
PJ

Hello PJ,

Just found a PM from cruisercaptain and I've sent him the scanned pages I sent you, just in case you haven't already sent them.

Thanks

Geoff

Oh boy this is an old thread.
But then again, my furler is a pretty old furler too heh!

Any of the original guys still available?

I have to replace my rigging (insurance etc) and the rigging guys are trying to force a furlex on me as they say they couldn't replace the forestay without damaging the colnebrook.
So, I would like to have a go at this myself with the sta-lok stuff....
A manual showing the internals of the colnebrook would be a godsend.
As would any info about locating spares.
I'm most worried about the seareef extrusion.. if I break that I suppose I'm goosed...

Thanks
Hi,

I have some scanned copies of the Seareef details. Not that clear, but if you pm me with your email details I'll gladly copy them on to you.
