A photo of the cockpit might help.

Surely if you left the wheel attached you could put two hooks on the wheel spokes at the front of the table, and then use one or two legs at the rear? Obviously then your height is dictated by the wheel spokes, but it would be easily removable and quite stable.

That was actually my first idea, and I was going to support the aft end on the cabin top behind the helm (we're centre cockpit). But I'd prefer to have the wheel off entirely, and it will make the space much better.
From a safety POV, I also prefer having the steering able to operate with the table in place- obviously I'd need to use the autopilot to steer but I'd rather have the option than not.

This is a not very good photo of the cockpit with the wheel removed. I'm mid-way through refurbing the sole, so there's one test patch of Interdeck and the rest is awaiting primer and paint. It was chipped and peeling Treadmaster until a couple of days ago.

Well I've made a decision. This bracket will go on to the pedestal (I'll need to fabricate something but it should be pretty easy):
https://www.amazon.es/gp/aw/d/B076C5YG85?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

Then on to the 50mm tube I'll use an upside down parasol base to attach the table top:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/aw/d/B07MW9ZCJY?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

I might even be able to use the folding mechanism on the parasol base to create drop leafs, although I won't know whether that will work until I've actually got my hands on it.

I will report back when I have finished...

My boat heels sllightly to port and the lagun table couldn't be adjusted. Sold it on ebay and don't miss it. Top was nasty and plasticky. Now don't use a cockpit table at all. This is in the med.

Do you really need a table?

Hope you dont mind me "butting in" but, early in the thread, lots of people suggested the Lagun table, which rejected due to the protrusion of the bracket, (I think). I've just measured the width of my Lagun bracket, and it is 10cm. The width of the bracket you are going to buy is 18cm.

I appreciate that what you are buying is much cheaper than the Lagun but, having done similar research to you, very recently, I decided that it was worth paying the extra for the Lagun and, now it is fitted, I am glad I did.

The difference is that my plan is completely removable. The Lagun would mean having a permanently mounted bracket.
