From Troon try:

As Cameron says, The Kyles; also Tarbert Loch Fyne; Lamlash - Arran; Gair Loch - Loch Fyne; Rothesay.

Hope the weather improves for you.

Where ever you go watch out for the debris floating aroung the clyde! Just back from a days work on Arran and I've never seen so much rubbish around everything from Tyres, complete with alloy wheels, old doors and huge treetrunks. All heading south after leaving the confines of some riverbank. The water was a beautiful shade of brown with visibility down to about 18 inches. Obviously suffering from the torrential rain recently.
Lets hope it dries up by the weekend.

Depends from which way you arrive, If coming from the south Alisa Craig is a large granite rock teaming with birds and just to the east you have Girvan a small fishing harbour.
Then plod across to Lamlash (SE Arron) drop your hook behind Holy Isle and take in the sights including a monastery, if you want to have a look around there is a shuttle boat from Lamlash.
Loch Ranza is another place worth looking at with mooring bouys good for a lunch stop but no more as I find the motion of the waves with the wind to be side on making it a bit rolly for sleeping.
Tarbert another fishing villalge, good food and good bars, try and stay away at the weekend as it gets a little bit crowded unless thats your thing, saying that I am planning to be there this Saturday.
Caladh Harbour another great place for a lunch stop.
Take a trip up Loch Long to Carrick Castle passing the nuclear submarine base which looks like some thing out of Kenco.
I could go on if you want more drop me PM I have been up most nooks and cranies.
Have a pleasent sail
Paul

I do think there should be guidelines on this kind of stuff. Its just bringing the whole falorum into total disrepute. There are after all correspondents of a delicate and sensitive nature around and its enough to give them a burst of the vapours

Report....

Can report back that Extrovert has managed to dry out. Last seen enjoying the sights of Tarbert - although funnily enough not alongside but on a swinging mooring. Must be something to do with having a tri....
On the other hand, Fly-Fly passed us at Skate Is at a rate of knots......

Believe he is now heading for the upper reaches of Loch Fyne.
