Hello John

The Kyles of Bute are to die for! Great anchorages at Kames, Tighnabruich and that wee enclosed bay just across from the Burnt Islands/mouth of Loch Riddon (cant remember/pronounce its name)and a lot of fun playing spot the other boat/porpoise/dolphin or possibly basking shark.

Try stopping off at Mount Stuart House on Bute. It is possible in moderate weather to drop the hook just off shore in moderate weather paddle ashore and hack through the forrest. Wouldn't try it in a S/SE though!

Arran, with anchorages at Lamlash, Brodick and Lochranza is beautiful and then there is Loch Fyne with Inverary near its head.

To name but a few

Venturing up this way?

Regards
Cameron

Campbeltown. Certainly.
Ardentiinny. Certainly
Lamlash. Certainly

I would also add.
Carradale for its welcome.
Lochranza for its wildlife.
Brodick for its holding.

Regards

Donald

Bit late for the Open.

Is there not a Buckfast competition on at the Ardrossan Municipal course this week?

Was that your fine ship sighted anchored off Kames on Saturday evening?

Arrived back at Kames at 3pm and were heading off home when I noticed you were anchored off.

Fancy graphics....

Hello Donald

Welcome back!

Yes that was me. Really enjoy that Highlander ale that is brewed in Caindow at the top of Loch Fyne so motored up to the Kames Hotel, had two, and then motored home. Hardly a breath of wind but a beautiful evening.

Didn't notice Rebel when I arrived but noticed her as I left.

Had the graphics done to break up the big blank white sides. Had a Celtic knot stencil from a decorators and had a friend who is a local artist create the QED lettering from the book of Cells (?) and the dragon.

Appreciate the use of your mooring while you were away.

Regards

Did you try West Loch Tarbert on Jura - we spent a couple of days there as well as Islay a wee jolly around the sound of Jura, Tayvallich, MacCormic etc - we'd a grand time eating all the fish Mrs LongJohnSadler kept catching.

Not this time.
We went to Craighouse from Tayvallich.Believe the McCormicj Isle were there but fog was so thick we didn't actually see them going in. Scared? Me?

.... not as much as the ten hour F6 beat from Harris to L Dunvegan.... but that's another story.

Had me pinned to the wall as he gazed into my eyes and funnily enough at Rathlin as well. Told me all his problems and was taking a further deep breath when I managed to break away and run full tilt for the dinghy.

Beatiful bar, but I didn't need the commentary.

... and I dont like dogs that lie on the floor and try to stare you out.... creepy
