My (Zodiac) inflatable RIB is badly in need of a clean. I see that there is special cleaner on the chandlery shelves (Starbright?) but is it any better than anything else; is it particularly good for the 'fabric'? What do others use? If the special stuff is a lot better then I would be prepared to fork out for it. Thanks, folks.

I use a Zodiac for survey work, and it gets pretty mucky.

I find the best way of cleaning it is to look for a puncture with a cloth and soapy water.

Just liquid soap or washing up liquid applied directly with sponge or cloth and bit of elbow grease is what I recomend.

If you go onto Mobo chat or the lounge and find a poster called hlb (Haydn) he is selling his own international cleaning stuff.

I bought some, and my 18yr old dinghy now looks like new, seriously, this is good stuff, add a cap to a 1/4 bucket of water and apply to grubby dinghy. Wash off with hose and don sunglasses.

I am also about to attack the boat bilges with it to see if it can clean 27 years of neglect!

Hope this helps.....

I've not used the Starbright inflatable cleaner, but I have used some of their other products and found them to be excellent.
If you do try it let us know how you get on.

Thanks, everyone. I might just try that Starbright cleaner; if so will report back, promise! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
