Oi!

Is it true that you've commissioned Laura Ashley to develop wallpaper out of your YM article with which you have now papered the hall, stairs and landing

Re: Servis Lift

Thought you had the fenderstep thingy? Do you think I could install a servis lift on a CO26 cus I'm looking for a winter project..

Talking winter project have you thought of installing this on Claymore? Think it might look quite nice in your conservatory / Patio bit..

Re: Servis Lift

Aye well - we were up in Achiltibuie (sp?) a year or two ago and got measured up for the pipework. It would be good for growing herbs because there's no toxins in th soil - it being a water based system - however the snag with getting one aboard Claymore is all to do with storage of fresh water. Dear Heart is a great one for the personal hygiene and washes most weeks and I like the odd brew so we have a 50 gallon tank - I understand that we'd really need several thousands of gallons of the stuff so I'm not sure what to do. Jimi did suggest towing a holding tank and he thought he might know where to get one - but the spinnaker I've ordered is a bit cruisy really and following the comments regarding a Code 0 I dont think I want to be the but of criticism so I've put the hydroponicum on hold just now
I was thinking a bit of pampas grass on the aft deck might look ok and the Yard are making some clip type gadgets so that we can hang window boxes out of the holes where the front mooring lines go - they'd be demountable of course but should look rather smart on a broad reach

Re: Servis Lift

But hold on you could have a ready supply of fresh Caulis.. why not just recycle the washing up water etc..

infact if you used a holding tank you wouldn't need to add nutrients to the water supply..

thinking about this maybe Glen Rosa might be a better candidate for a hydroponicum!

Re: Servis Lift

Think "fresh" caulies is maybe sexing up the description. Claysie had a brilliant idea to get his bilges cleaned ... "get Hutton to ask about them!" Unfortunately the aging roue got a bit confused and ended up with Liz Hurley scrubbing the decks. Not fazed by this, he then went to the local chemists and returned several days later with 3 tins of rubbing embrocation, a lrge rubber glove and 22 packets of duracell ... triple A.
