Clacton Airshow

well as I would be coming from Marconi (Osea island ) the tides are against me and my skills so It is my sisters beach hut for me on Friday

Also going from Millbeach but will overnight in Bradwell on Thursday . Oh the joys of berthing in the dark. Still will be a bash against the tide for a few miles ( ah the joys of wind over tide in the Wallet) but at present the wind is showing a westerly at about 15kt so should make some progress to arrive at noon (ish). Seems like its all going to be Joyful

I am a newbie to this sailing stuff and suffer a bit when it gets lumpy wind over tide outside Mersea area and we are waiting on a grandchild due to pop out this weekend so need to be on call for babysitting duty's for the others . maybe next year and the Konsort will be in by then also

Will be coming out of Tollesbury tomorrow first thing and taking the ebb out. Should be a nice run out with fair wind and tide. Coming back wind over tide in the evening looks like being a bit lumpy, if we had the weekend free I'd carry on up to the backwaters but sadly not this time.

We are in Titchmarsh tonight.
Catching a bus to Clacton tomorrow.
Don't fancy achoring in the Wallet in 12 to 15 knts and then punching the Flood to Harwich.

It isn't a pleasant place to anchor unless the conditions are just right. We've done the show by boat 3 times, and 2 out of 3 we left early because it was unpleasant at anchor.

Bit too much for me I think --a pity as we are currently in Bradwell

Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but reports seem to be revising the wind downwards. Predicting 11kts on midday Friday according to SWIS.

1st mate didn't think much of the roll back up to walton! Hoping tomorrow might be better?!

Lovely to meet you and chew the cud over a pint or two last night Habebty, thanks for that!

We saw them from afar as we came away - didn't stay as couldn't get anchor to hold, set it twice but seemed to drag each time, annoyingly! Not sure what we did wrong either, plenty of chain out!
