Have a look at Cruising Scotland, A Companion to the CCC Sailing Directions. Just what you need to whet the appetite ;-)

Thnx, this is very helpfull.
It shows once more, as several of you have already suggested, that you can spend many months here. It will be difficult to chose!

Now you have had such useful free advice, you will now have to keep a blog of your journey so we can all 'travel' with you ;)

See you on the way round [anticlockwise of course] :D

Absolutely right, I’ll keep you all informed! Probably on this forum, I don’t have a website.
And we will keep a sharp lookout for the Capi D’or (what type and colour is she?)

Jakeroyd,

thanks for the Penguin Boltholes info'. Have added to our growing info for 'Round Britain' ........this summer with any luck.
Hope to see you around 'sailingjoy', look out for our Tradewind - Ambler of Arne,
As a general info/guidance book we've so far found Sam Steeles 'UK and Ireland circumnavigators guide' as good as any.

cheers
S.

Ambler of Arne will be on our list!
We are a Dutch Etap 34, white hull, grey sails, called Joy.
I bought Sam Steeles book this summer, somewhere on the way to the Scillies, very nice.
