Hi all.

I have a Volvo Penta TAMD22P/SX engine and the engine warning/display unit is part number VP 873 737. It has 4 x 12V lamps for Temp, Oil, Battery and not sure! 5 x Faston connectors labelled: +, -, +, -, 61. 5 wires: WH, YL, GN, BL, RD to socket. 7 wires: BN, RD/GN, BN/WH, BL/WH, RD/BL, BK/WH, BK to Plug.

Has anyone got a circuit diagram for this Unit?

Thanks & Happy New Year

I think that the TAMD22 probably uses the same panels as the MD22's and TMD22 for which I do have both a 1996'ish vintage circuit diagram and the circuitry to the external engine sensors, alternator, etc. I do not have the part number of the MD22 one but your +, -, +, -, 61, etc descriptions seem to match although I don't know if the cable colours match what you say.

These diagrams are in the MD22 operator's manual, so I assume that maybe you do not have the manual for your engine.

I believe the fourth light shows starting preheat is enabled.

So, if no one comes up with the exact thing matching your part number, send me a personal message (go to "My Home" and then to "Send a PM" in the message box) with your email address, but before 10 Jan as I will be away after that, and I can email you a copy to see if it matches.

Let me know which panel you have - there is a basic one with rev counter and lights only, and a less basic one which also has volt, oil pressure and temperature gauges as well.

Sorry no wiring diagram, but as ships cat says they are in the owners manual.

I had a problem with this unit about a year ago, the test alarm would not stop. I had the unit apart and volt metre across it.

I ended up buying a new unit for the bargain price of just over 100 pounds.

The Volvo Penta unit Volvo part number VP 873 737 Is made by VDO which has a part number N03 320 789.

Volvo TAMD22

Hi there,

I was thinking of buying a boat with a Volvo TAMD22 engine in it. It is a 1999 which has done about 400 hrs. I was wondering if you could give me your views on the engine and anything I should look out for!!
Cheers
