I made a special trip out here over christmas, partly for the weather but also to check out the boats for fatipa. Unfortunately, the result of my investigation is that none of the boats are yet renting out for 20pee a day for a 10-berth 50-footer.

Still, quite nice i must say. The crap food sort of evens out with the ace weather- easily the tastiest thing around here is a cheese sandwich.

Sailingwise, we have got a jeanneau 45.2, which i can handle very wizz in the marina swooshing out backwards and so on, BUT when it come to the sailing, i remain a bit rubbish, I think. Or maybe i am picking the wrong competition. Last year we picked a race with a family who (it transpired) included 2 sons who were planning to race in "the nationals" whatever they are. Thys year we shouted over to a nearby boat to get their engine off, we drew close together and then one of their kids shouted "water!" which i think is fairly racey, oh heck, and sure enuf they buggered off. Later it turns out that they won some cornwall race series, damnit.

I have managed to get 9 knots out the boat although that was downwind. ok, the engine was on full whack as well. On one tack beam reach (no engine) it can do 8 kts on the other it can only do 6 it seems. The freshwater tank unloaded into tyhe bilde so we went back to base. I asked if the floppy rigging was a design feature, so they got some adjustable spanners and tightened it "a bit".

I have to go now to catchh up with a load of cocktails or something. more info at www.beyc.com

merry xmas all.

S'great here! Pissed with rain most of the day, some kids just kicked my Merc in, outside the office couple hours ago. Police didn't even bother turning up. Work (and police baiting) tomorrow!

Sorry - reading your missive actually lifted my spirits. I'll have a blue one, whatever that's called. Is the exhaust on the left? Leave the rest to you...Have a GREAT time!!

Wrong link

Absolutely nuthin about coktails, all about some boring, sunny idyllic sailing location.

Merry Christmas and see you next year.

I know that's what we thought!`what a long way to go for dodgy grub, every thing frozen and taseless with bottled bbq sauce.

We are having a mini heatwave here!

and guess what I'le be doing the Chrismass dinner with all the trimmings, eat your heart out..........

Merry Christmas and good sailing, watch out for the sharks with the big white grins!!!!!!!!

Ahh! out of interest, if you're on a Jeanneau, what's at the very sterniest bit, starboard.

Saw one of very similar size on Monday at Berthon, Lymington, moored just downstream from Town Quay, looking a bit frazzled around the grp, behind starboard wheel. There a gas locker there?

Have a great time!

<hr width=100% size=1> I asked an economist for her phone number....and she gave me an estimate

Don't you DARE use up all the sunshine out there, because we fly in to Barbados on 2nd January for a two week cruise around the Caribbean area, but the lazy man's way, on P&O's cruise liner Oceana. Only reason for doing this is to give the Captain a bollocking - his wash nearly swamped us as we rounded Calshot earlier this year (and before anyone asks, we were out of the main channel!!). The sun might help with Mrs Nicho's convalescence too.....

Have a great Xmas, Matt.

watch out - banana rum , bushwhacker and painkillers give quite a kick . Also
dont throw food to yellow jacks while in water beside them or you might get bitten. On the other hand barracudas and sharks are quite polite and only come close at night to get bits that fall of your BBQ . When they roll over and show their teeth that means they want you to throw them something so dont oblige by jumping in

Re: twas christmas eve

Re Baby. s' funny that. After the office Christmas party last week, Susan asked me to go back to her place. We got inside and got kind of friendly and she said "I want a babystay". Just so happens that I had some 8mm 1x19 s/s wire in the boot of the car. She said I was kinky and threw me out. Where did I go wrong? The stay wasn't kinky as it happens (neither am I), good piece of stuff, back in the bosuns locker now. Women are strange creatures that's for sure.

Re: twas christmas eve

Perhaps tcm (sounds merry enough already without further need for xmas felicitation), being in the appropriate place, could bring him back a couple of British Virgins?
They're probably a bit thin on the ground over here.

there's the exhaust elbow wassername right under that seat, our is loose and clonks a bit. Gas in on port side, tho of course different years etc might be different. Probly and exhaust thing, perhaps if a as bottle went up there'd be no boat?
