Christmas boating SofF

I was on the water today and tomorrow, after the men from Beneteau fit my new engine batteries, I’m off to Porquerolle for the night:cool:

you guys are really sad...

ok, it may be sunny, but it IS chilly, no?
I'm just driving the parade with heating on, stop (engine on), check the boat (visually with window down...) and then go to work (300mt away). Will only bother to get in once or twice a week (for the record, I'm passing outside at least twice a day). Fe, today went in to pickup the solar panel stats for December from the victron mppt.

As my friends say, if you cannot swim, why bother?

cheers

V.

In the sun it was lovely and warm, the shade was freezing:ambivalence:
It’s just so nice without all the rest of the boating traffic

I know, you need to be in constant movement to keep the sun on your body, it's like a game (completely opposite to the game you play in July-August...)
You can be on a t-shirt like that, but miss the sun for 10secs and you're dead :p
kinda like what's his name on the titanic holding the board with the girl on it.

cheers

I,am with Vas on this .
Living in the Swiss Alps there’s absolutely no chance of a boat Xmas - not complaining.
Was there yesterday ( 50 CHF rtn and 45 mins GVA/ NCE ) Tbo it’s a bit gawd forsaken in the winter SoF .
Went to check on the boat - run up systems and clean it etc .All worked as it should touch wood .
Been skiing nearly every day for about a week except yesterday of course.Theres been quite a bit of early snow this year so skied back to door earlier this week .
Start proper boating May time when all the winter sports ends .

brings back good memory's when we spend new years eve in Cassis,
and went out with the boat on 1/1/2012,
all around les iles de Riou and Frioul, fantastic weather, great fun,

thanks for posting !

We’ve been on the boat for a few days now, on the Algarve, getting close to 20c in the daytime with no cloud. Evenings are still a little warmer than the daytime high in the U.K.

This was taken on the water yesterday, water was warm, albeit after having passed through a dolphin!

Just had a couple of Optima batteries installed which made me happy :) then we cruised over to Porquerolles, the sun was shining it was warm, calm not a drop of wind. We had lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the port then went for a dogwalk and are now getting ready for the evening. To all of you who won’t cruise in the winter j’accuse you of being fair weather boaters:cool:
The Capitainerie says that New Year’s Eve is even busier than August and, as they don’t accept bookings, you need to arrive a few days early to get a place. And you must leave the boat in the port, because even if you pay in advance, if you go someone will take your place

Monaco has been colder than London all week ! I don’t fancy being out on the water!

The Christmas market was fun though !

Hmm, not too sure about that. Temps have been higher on the Nice aerodrome forecast and actual readings all week vice Heathrow and Gatwick.

Just back from lunch in one of our favourite bays on the southern tip of Cap Ferrat and it was a nice 13-14. We even saw some people in the water. They might have been eskimos, but they were in there.
