They're managed by the Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

Application details here, although it looks like it's all a bit full. Probably a sign of the times as people trade down from a marina berth. Last year there were some vacancies for most of the year.

Re: chichester mooring\'s

Call the Chi harbour office & ask for the moorings officer, Adrian. Now's the time as he'll be allocating any spare moorings now.

Re: chichester mooring\'s

There is always a waiting list for the deep-water (A-class) moorings, especially at Itchenor. However, if it's a drying mooring you are after, there are normally plenty of half-tide and a few three-quarter tide moorings available. Phone the harbour-masters office (number on website) and ask to speak to the moorings officer (Adrian). The people in the office are always very helpful.

Re: chichester mooring\'s

Not all the Chichester mooring are Conservancy ones (mine isn't for starters)

The various boatyards and clubs around the harbour mostly have moorings, in most cases probably cheaper than the Conservancy ones.

Deep water water moorings are difficult to obtain but drying ones are a bit easier,
The deep water Conservancy moorings in the Nutbourne Channel are seldom all taken, but access is difficult. Thornham Marina used to offer car parking and dinghy launching facilities but they may have either stopped that or intend to.

As suggested contact the harbour office but the website should give you an indication of what moorings might be available and if the waiting lists are open or not.

Then start contacting the various boat yards.

Very infrequently private moorings also come up for sale.

Re: chichester mooring\'s

I think Thornham do allow use of their carpark. you can dinghy from there or from the chains.
Access is about 2 1/2 hrs each side of HW, which I find plenty. It gives a 4 hr day sail or enough time to catch the west going tide to Yarmouth.

I was lucky enough to buy a private mooring, which I will hang onto 'forever'!

Heres looking towards Sundays HW of 1100 !!

Perfick!

Hi Nick,
The harbour website does still say that Thornham allow car parking etc but I did hear they they were trying to persuade the owner of "another small boatyard nearby" to allow it as well or instead of. (unsuccesfully!)
