I think full price is 30 Euros/night, we get a club discount so for us is 25 Euros.

Ahah - tres bon, I will be spending my monies there next week. Sadly, and fondly, I remember berthing in the fishermans harbour in the 60's and going ashore for a 3-1/2 hr, 8 course meal for 22fr 50 centimes. (think there was 20 to the £ then)

Aaaah welll......

I remember the moorings by the old Yacht Club up by the bridge, and even the Cafe du Theatre from those days but not what the meal cost, that really is sad/forums/images/icons/smile.gif!

I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but I remember the shape - it was on a really sharp corner, so was wedge shaped. Last time I was over there it was a cafe, but that was 15 years ago, so it's about time I paid a visit. I also remember thaere was a concrete barge somewhere, but that is hazy (as these things are after sampling the calvados !) :)

Ah, those were the days. Remember the old Yacht Club?

The steward, can't remember his name, had kids who loved English cut bread so I used to take a lot extra with me when going to Cherbourg. Always a friendly reception there. Still in touch with some of the French members met in the 60s. The steward (name please someone) went on to run a small hotel in the town.

There was always a large (free) calvados on the bar for me on arrival in the clubhouse. Used to go over for weekend breaks with the French friends and sometimes stay in his hotel.

Remember a rather riotous night when about ten of us, including two rosbifs, went to Napoleon's statue on the front at about two in the morning and painted his horse's b**l***ks red.
