Cheeky seal on Orwell today

Great bit of video Colin.

Reminds me a of a set of shots I got on the Broads a few years ago, a Seal followed a Kayak determined to try to get on, the kayakee was less than happy.

Eeek
We sometimes use a pump up kayak
I wouldn't want to share that with a seal

Excellent video! Wonder if it was the same seal I saw near no.9 buoy today. Gave up trying to sail and dropped the hook at Clamp House in the sun, lovely temperature today.

They seem to like being friendly with flubbers too. Favourite place for them to spend the night is at Wrabness, the way we've found to discourage them is to tie the tender alongside rather than trailing astern.

Yep Sammy is often around, even to be found in the wet dock at Ipswich

That is probably where young Terry was heading or the New Cut where there are a load of sculls now. He was based at Fox's once upon a time with a blooming great boat. I had a pic of it once.

Your video has made it onto the BBC News Website in the England section!!

That is where I found out it was Terry who often messed about on the river with me before he moved out of town. As sea scouts we had access to boats and stuff we should never have been allowed near :-) I remember swimming back from the Butt and Oyster when a lad had to be picked up by a barge one of the lads fathers was sailing back to Ipswich :-)
