Hi,
I am chartering a yacht for the first time, soon.
Has anyone got some good checklists prepared in word or text format.

What I am looking for is say.
A checklist on boarding, essential equipment check, systems, safety.
A checklist for newbies to refer to before sailing, hatches, doors, cocks sort of stuff.
An emergency Radio operation procedure for newbies.

You know the sort of thing

The charterer will have a checklist . . . they will take you through everything at handover, so you shouldn't need one. This will include all safety info including shutting hatches at sea, gas safety, seacocks etc. It is ideal if at least one other crew member is present for the handover.

Most charterers will also leave any necessary checklists on the boat - just ask them where they are. (Usually in the boat's Operations Manual or some similar folder, where all the boat's systems are detailed, manuals kept etc).

Charterers are very particular about supplying good information - it means they get fewer phone calls for help during the charter. I wouldn't worry about it if I was you.

Emergency VHF procedures will be posted next to the radio should anyone without a certificate need to put out a Mayday.
