Cheapest storage for a fin keel yacht

I am simply stunned at some of the annual rates being mentioned in this thread for swinging moorings on the south coast. I’ll never moan about the ubiquitous east coast mud again. We’re paying a fraction what you lot down there are paying.

I decided not to annoy the OP so just with held information about up here,

Sadly it would take me a bit too long to get up to where you are on a Friday evening, let alone a Sunday morning and a 2.1M draft requirement precludes much of the East coast mud... Cowes costs are relatively reasonable for the Solent but I'm sure if I wanted to emigrate East or North it would be much cheaper to park a boat (probably colder and wetter too...)

But the OP wants to lay the boat up, not use it. As for colder and wetter, Cowes doesn't compare too well to Portugal and the east coast is the driest area of the UK.

Aah, it's not clear from the initial post whether he wants to use it or not - 'berthing, storage, or lay up'.
I'd assume, perhaps wrongly, if the boat is in Beaulieu he has relatively easy access to the South Coast so a cheaper parking space in the area might be a benefit. As to Portugal I'm not sure what the relevance is - I wouldn't want to be there myself although I'm sure it's very nice, I must live in another Cowes, it's been hot and sunny here in this one most of the year

Because Portugal is cheap, which is what is sought by the OP: "Can anyone advise me on super cheap options for berthing, storage, or lay up for a year or so?" Pretty unambiguous.
Cowes, by any standard, is not super cheap, Folly Reach offers zilch in the way of facilities and is an awkward place to get to even assuming the FB isn't bust and the water taxi conspicuous by it's absence.

Time to sign out of this thread methinks - I live in Cowes, I like it.
For the Solent, in my view, it is 'pretty cheap', I keep my 12M boat on a pontoon in Folly Reach for less than a quarter of the price of a Solent marina and a dinghy in the Medina Mariners boat park next to the Folly pub for £30 annually to get to it, I neither need or use the FB, joke that it has become and rarely use the water taxi although since the change of ownership and deal with CHC service is good.
Whilst the guy does indeed say he wants super cheap. he doesn't (unless I missed it) say he doesn't want access to it without a couple of hours on an aircraft - I'm just trying to offer possible suggestions - one man's cheap is another man's expensive I guess
That said I'm emigrating to a marina in Southern Brittany next March

Light wave would the prices in Southern Brittany be in line with Folly rates? I guess you have done some research but for those thinking of escaping the Solent just wondered if you had any recommendations on basis that Portugal is a step too far ?

you could try Larkmans yard or Melton Boatyard for storage ashore they are next door to each other at the top of the Deben in Woodbridge. They don't quote prices on their websites though.
