Cheap Solar panels?

I have just ordered 2 x 135 watt kyocera PV at $4.60 per watt, I think that is good value for money, or am I just being had by the green tree hugging bunny humpers?

What are the prices where you are??

Did you get them from BM inSt Marten? I ordered a 90w panel from them which is due in St Vincent any day.Im hoping its ok,the price is good for down here.Frank Cookson.

those might be the last lot of the old style Kyocera panels at about 12 - 14% efficiency.

The new ones (KD series) are working at 17.5% efficiency and are just coming on stream.

They have a 1600mm x 990mm one which now shoves out 240 watts....

Those same 135w Kyocera panels are available from Island Water World in St Maarten for 530 dollars each.

240 Watts. Can hardly believe it. Got any further info or links. Intend making solar panel purchase before VAT rise.

They are on order from Budget Marine in St Thomas.
We already have 2 x 85 watt panels and a morningstar 30 controller.

Haven't seen any of the new generation PV advertised in the Caribbean, but will make do with the old technology, as always as soon as I buy something it's out of date.
My 60 gig ipod was the last generation without video, but still works 7 years later.

If it's the KD 235 - taken from Kyocera's own website - they're claiming 235watts, dimensions of 990 x 1662 and 16% efficiency.

That size is not available in the UK, where the largest module on offer is the 1500mm x 990mm 210watt panel.

135 Watt Solar Panel Kyocera KD135-GH-2PU panels are £369ea new on eBay.co.uk and they say they have above 16% efficiency. Good deal to me.
