What on earth are you doing Nathan? I barely use 8 GB in a month and SWMBO stioll complains about the amount of time I'm on the PC. What are you downloading?

No tethering on their "unlimited" packages - which are not as unlimited as they may seem.

Apparently more than 1Gb in any hour, and more than 3Gb in any day, is seen as excessive..... And most "forum users" suggest keeping below 750Mb per day - which would limit you to 24Gb per month.

BTW you can't tether an iPhone on Giffgaff, even on their tetherable £10 per month 1Gb Goodybag.

Great if you don't want to tether, and don't use large amounts of data.

How do they know if you are tethering? And surely a Mifi modem is tethering anyway.

I have no idea how they know if you are tethering - and yes, a Mifi modem would be tethering.

I do know that I used to tether T-Mobile to my laptop with a Nokia N95. Then, one day, as I tethered, up popped a web paged which asked me for money to tether. So, whilst some people say its hard for them to know you are tethering, my experience tells me that it's possible, and not too difficult.

Its possibly more obvious with a phone - if you start using GB of data on a smartphone, its suspicious. Maybe they check what you are using the data for.

I had a quick look and there was nothing on three that beats giffgaff on £12 a month unlimited data and no contract just pay up each month. You can swap between plans at will

Three offers 12 months unlimited data £72. Half the price of Giff gaff monthly. Three also offer 3gb for £20 for 3 months. No good if like Nathanlee you are downloading a load of film or Beeb Iplayer. It can gobble it up in a few hours!

I only said a quick look and I saw nothing like that, must be hidden in the depths.

All depends what you want, that would have been no good to me popping in and out of the UK and even now I am moving back I suspect the normal rates will still come in less that £72 for me
