Cheap mooring in Plymouth

Anyone know of a reasonably priced deep water mooring in Plymouth with sensible access from the Devon side by inflatable?Need one for my fin keeled Hurley 22 (4ft draft).

Not sure which part of the Devon side you are talking about but I would suggest Cargreen Sailing Club.
Moorings (all are swinging)are approximately £400/year , plus your membership fees which is very good value.
There is nowhere on the Devon side there except if you wanted to motor up the Wearde Quay which is on the Devon side.
It's about 30 mins or so up river from the Bridge and is best approached with a little depth under you.

Failing that , I applied but did not take a swinging mooring in the Cattewater. Which would have potentially better shoreside possibilities. Inquire with the Cattewater Harbour Commissioners in the Barbican near the museum. Can't remember costs here but would assume more than Cargreen.
Landing on the South shore of the Cattewater I understand can be a bit of an issue. I am no expert here. You would have to ask others. Perhaps landing at PHY is OK ?

You could enquire at Tamar River Sailing Club or Plym Yacht Club. The upper moorings for Cargreen Yacht Club can be accessed from the Devon side at Weir Quay but why not just use Cargreen's facilities? Weir Quay Sailing Club sometimes has moorings but you may have to put up with a Sub-let for a year or two until a suitable permenant one becomes available.

Choice of moorings from Cornwall side is much greater (except marinas) and not too much further to drive depending on where you choose.

We are in Devon, but our mooring is on Cornwall side (Lynher River off the Tamar) and is only 10 more mins in the car than having to drive into Plymouth City (where most of the Devon side moorings exist). Weir Quay up the Tamar is great, but quite a drive along lots of narrow lanes and would only really work if you lived in the area. Also on Devon side, Tamar River Sailing Club definitely worth a look, deep water trot moorings.

Thanks for the info guys. Was just trying to avoid the drive over the bridge then along to Cargreen as I'm starting from Axminster, Devon. But now just literally sold our house to move further west, so it might not matter after all.

It's much quicker to drive over the bridge and into Cargreen from up-country than it is to get to, say, Weir Quay on the Devon side.

Driving to Weir(d) Quay takes ages but isn't very far as the crow flies.

For all the wiggly lanes Weir Quay is a lovely spot. Try Weir Quay Boatyard not the sailing club, I know they have some moorings because I was talking to them about one a few weeks ago, although we've bottled out and are going to PYH instead. Cargreen probably the cheapest though, then there's always Torpoint if you do decide to take the Big Step onto the other side of the river

I think yoda has the right idea, Plym Yacht Club often have fore and aft moorings available and access is easy from the A38. The Plym is very sheltered and only 10 mins from the sound.

They race on Friday nights so it is a great start to the weekend if you are into that. Alas my mooring, below, is not very suitable for you....
