Cheap East coast mooring

Can anyone recomend a cheap place to keep a 24 foot yacht on the east coast, preferably somewhere around Harwich. I guess it'll probably have to be a deep water mooring, as pontoons, while nice, are well beyond my budget.

How about the Walton Backwaters? I would try F Hall & Sons. (one of 2 local boatyards) Tel 01255 675596. Two pals of mine have both moored in the Walton Channel and Foundry Reach at a reasonable rate. The excellent Walton & Frinton Yacht Club (01255 675526) is to hand and if you do fancy going into a marina overnight Tichmarsh Marina is around the corner which does have good facilities. One boat was an Evolution 26 (has lifting keel) which was on a partly drying mooring and the other was a T 24 which draw about 4ft 6inches and that one was in the Walton Channel. What boat have you and what is her draft? The other boat yard is Bedwell & Co. 01255 675873. I am on the River Deben but it is immpossible to get a mooring there, perhaps with the exception of Felixstowe Ferry which did have so moorings available last year. I don't know their number. You could give Brightlingsea a try, l've just got a mooring down there, very reasonable, have a mooch around the smaller yards if you go down there. I'm at Weeley which is not far from Harwich and its only 8 miles to the boat from here.
